The only statewide ecumenical partnership in South Carolina, the Council represents the partnership of 16 denominations and 21 regional judicatories, including 4,500 congregations.

We serve as a catalyst for
1) social justice through public policy advocacy,
2) Christian unity and inter-religious dialogue through relationships, collaborations and events, and
3) Racial and cultural healing by building bridges of understanding and trust.

Your Council's ministry areas include Christian unity and inter-religious dialogue, restorative justice, ethical and moral immigration reform, PayDay Lending Industry regulation, Public Education funding equity, and other vital issues.

This week's prayer from The Yearbook of Prayer for South Carolina 2008 July 6, 2008 Refugees Today’s prayer for: Refugees      Gracious Lord Jesus, when you were a child, your parents took you and fled as refugees to Egypt, fearing for your life. We pray for the 19 million refugees around the world displaced from their homes by war and persecution, that they might find safety and a chance to rebuild their lives. We pray for the refugees recently resettled in SC through the help of Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas, that they will be welcomed with hospitality in our community in the same way we would welcome you.
